There are three recently developed Loop Walks in the Sheen Valley Heritage Area. These are recognised by the national Looped Walk Scheme by (Name). Click on any of these Maps to get a detailed description of each Route.

(1) Druid’s Loop Walk

A 7km Looped Walk. Graded as Moderate, footing can be soft on hill surface. Experience a real taste of rural Ireland on this scenic walk which takes you through Molly Gallivan’s Tradtional Farm & Cottage and on to pretty country lanes and back roads.

(2) Fionn Mac Cumhaill Loop Walk

Fionn Mac Cumhaill Loop Walk

A 6km Looped Walk. Graded as Moderate, footing can be soft on hill surface. Enjoy scenic views of the Caha and Shehy Mountains surrounding the Sheen Valley.

(3) Cailleach Beara Loop Walk

A 12km Looped Walk. Graded as Difficult, footing can be soft on hill surface. While exploring the multi-period  heritage sites, enjoy scenic views of South Kerry & West Cork.

General Information

Bonane and the Sheen Valley are home to many other beautiful, breath-taking walks. These routes are being developed to allow walkers to share with locals the amazing scenery in Bonane. We aim to cater for everyone, so that there is something for walkers of all abilities.
