Bonane Heritage Park

Molly Gallivans Cottage and Traditional Farm

At Molly Gallivans you will experience the simple country lifestyle in rural Ireland before the days of electricity and modern conveniences. Molly's enchanting cottage is over 200 years old. Her farm is complete with animals, fowl and traditional farm machinery.

You will also visit the ghostly ruins of a family dwelling from the era of the great famine. You will find a neolithic stone row that forms part of a very rare ancient sun calendar.

5,000 years of history on a 500 meter walk

Take time to sample traditional baking in the tea room, browse the local crafts on display and finally sit and enjoy the audio visual show.

 

Lorge Chocolatire

 

Benoit Lorge, award winning chef, creates high quality chocolates for gourmet shops and high class hotels and restaurants.

The chocolates are handmade in Bonane, just 5 Km from Kenmare on the Glengarriff road and are distributed nationally.

Working closely with the local community, Benoit now also runs a number of specialist courses for aspiring chocolate makers, teaching them the finer points of preparing, handling and finishing many different types of chocolate. His most popular event is the bi-monthly children’s workshop, although sometimes his greatest critics, all the children go home delighted by what they have experienced with plenty of stories to tell.

Kenmare Bay Diving

Kenmare Bay Diving center is located at Kilmackillogue harbour, Lauragh on the spectacular Beara Peninsula. The facilities include diving compressor delivering both air and nitrox tank fills, dive gear rinsing and drying area, equipment rental, servicing and repairs of dive gear, drysuit repair clinic and changing room.

We offer diver training courses through PADI, (professional association of diving instructors) the largest diver training organisation in the world.
